RIP Alice Coltrane & MIchael Brecker

Alice Coltrane was 69. Being married to one of the most important musicians of the 20th century will get your name out, but her own music was also beautiful and spiritual and essential listening.
Michael Brecker was only 57. One of the greats of jazz saxophone.
I'm shocked to have learned of these two deaths within minutes. I've got some listening to do tonight.

Aw, shit. I never heard of Alice Coltrane before just now, but I know Brecker. They were both too damn young.

I've got a few of her albums and they're lovely. Her husband is one of my heroes. She was pretty special herself.
Brecker was a shock to me. I had no idea he was sick. I've got a few of his own albums and a pile of stuff he guests on. Killer player.
