I left my band back in September. It was a shitty, hard thing to do, but I was no longer able to justify it financially. I really miss those guys. But I've gone back up a few times to visit and sat in on a few tunes with them (Katie has joined us on backing vocals a few times), and I'll be doing a whole gig with them in May - the guy who replaced me is a long-time friend who's getting married then. I'll be in his wedding, then go cover for him on the gig while he's getting laid and I'm not.

Dammit.

I'm with a new band here in the Cincy area now, and we did our second gig last week. Not really my favorite thing musically (a chimp could play most of these bass parts) but since it's somewhat heavier rock, it means there's younger and better women around. I'm going to WORK that part of it. I've suffered for years from an intense insecurity around women, and I'm finally finding the tools to break out of that. I'm planning on some fun. Hey, I got a kiss and a phone number last Friday. Let the games begin.

My kid is more fun and cool and sweet and beautiful every day. I've converted her to being a big Monty Python and Bill Cosby fan. Those old Cosby albums from the 60s were very important to me when I was her age, and I'm thrilled that she loves them too.
